It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 years since I wrote my first post, unsure of where it would take me. Since then, I’ve published 447 articles, and went from having a couple hundred page views per month to over 20 thousand!
If my life was a smooth, uneventful ride, I would bake a cake for the occasion. A cake chosen from the several options suggested last year in the comments, fingers crossed that it would be as gorgeous as this baby:
Instead of uneventful, our life seems to follow the script of North by Northwest. 😉 All kitchen stuff is now divided between two homes, we are surrounded by boxes, and constrained by deadlines. No cake this year, I’m afraid. Instead, I celebrate by bringing you the first giveaway in the Bewitching Kitchen!
Leave a comment on this post from now until the end of June, and on July 1st I will draw the name of the lucky winner. The prize?
A copy of “The Brazilian Kitchen“, a book I recently fell in love with and wrote a post about. Everyone is welcome, from all over the planet, as long as the mail service can reach you! 😉
To all my readers, subscribers, followers, friends (in real life and those special friendships formed through the blogosphere) thank you for your support! And a special thank you to Fer, from Chucrute com Salsicha, who (maybe without ever being aware of it), was my main source of inspiration to become a food blogger.
I close this post sharing two photos from our new home: the view from our kitchen window, and a spot at the corner of our backyard. Just a teaser, we are not moved in yet, but sort of camped there for a couple of days last week. The two of us, a bed, a kitchen table. and the amazing performance of fireflies outside the window during the night…
ONE YEAR AGO: The Bewitching Kitchen turns two!
TWO YEARS AGO: Bewitching Birthday!
THREE YEARS AGO: Welcome to my blog!
Ooooh oooooh, pick me, pick me! And if you don’t I may just have to buy that book for myself. Good luck with the move, those two shots look tantalizing. Great yard! Can’t wait to hear/read what year 4 brings.

Congratulations on your third year “blog-iversary”. How generous of you to think of sharing this cookbook with your readers in the midst of this move.
Your new kitchen and garden both look amazing. Your going to enjoy living there a lot it seems. 🙂
Another new cookbook would be wasted on me as I still haven’t cooked anything from the last cookbook I was lucky enough to win in a blog (Sushi Day) draw, please leave me out of this one. Best of luck to everyone in the draw.

Bruna Torfs.

Congratulations Sally! You were the first blog we started reading regularly and I’m so glad Miss A picked Brazil so long ago in our adventures so that we found you. 🙂 Your backyard looks gorgeous! I can’t wait to see the kitchen (and what you whip up in there). Good luck with all the moving, packing and unpacking. I’ll be thinking of you. And you reminded me of how we used to lay in bed watching the fire flies outside our bedroom window at night in Minnesota. I still remember the first time we saw them – it’s a brilliant show. 🙂

A general thank you, wish I could address each of you separately, but at the moment it’s not possible. Thanks for all your comments, loved to hear from quite a few “first time commenters”, nice surprise!
Moving set for tomorrow, and of course, stormy weather predicted for the same day. No idea how it will affect us and the timing of it all
as I said before (quite a few times): Moving: not for sissies!
Now, back to frantically packing…… (sigh)

What a beautiful view! I love those windows. I was about to say “I hope your move goes smoothly” but I’m catching up and just saw your latest post – UGH! I feel your pain re: moving – we’re on day 3 of unpacking and it SUCKS. We were lucky enough to have the company pack for us, but unpacking it all now – I wish I’d packed it myself. The boxes are mishmashes of random things wrapped in SO MUCH PAPER I could literally fill the garage to the ceiling with it. I have no idea where my salt is. Or our stereo speakers (we suspect they may be tucked into a box labeled “suits and coats”). Moving is so frustrating – I hope things start moving along quickly for you now and the rest of the move goes smoothly. And at least now I know if I ever need a reference from a cookbook I can ask you…my goodness, 10 boxes?! lol I love it! 🙂 (P.S. What is UP with the tape dispensers?! I broke 2 of them just doing some preliminary packing…I was relegated to using my teeth to tear the tape!)
